The peculiar story of Jose Autran

The peculiar history of Jose Autran with the Start Cycling Team begins in 2012 with the creation of the Start training cycling school in northern Chile, more specifically in Tierra Amarilla, in the Atacama desert. There, at just 12 years old, a young Jose Autran, a 7th grade student at the Marta Aguilar school, began cycling at just 40 kg, wearing the colors of the team that would be a beacon for him and for the other children who were beginning to make your first steps in this sport.

Few imagined that a few years later that little cyclist from such an isolated place and with little cycling activity would become Chilean champion in the junior category and a bronze medal at the Pan American level. Then, supported by the team, he traveled to Belgium to race in Belgium in the junior category in preparation for his first world championship in the city of Bergen, Norway, where he would compete in the time trial (59th place) and in the peloton (83rd place).

Due to his good performances the following season and already in the Under 23 category, he would be the first Chilean cyclist to go directly from Junior to professionals, being one of the talents of the Start Cycling Team, coming to compete with the team in Belgium, Holland, France , Germany, China and in his own Chile.

In 2021 it will be his 4th season defending the colors of the Start Cycling Team and where it is expected that with his maturity and experience he will begin to reap great results.
